Metadata Messengers can be viewed on mobile devices in a custom layout to make efficient use of the smaller screen size and accommodate touch input.
For an overview of Mobile Messenger features and functionality, see DF Studio Messengers on Mobile Devices.
Access the Metadata Editor
All metadata editing takes place on the 1-Up view for each image. Tap any thumbnail preview to open the 1-Up view.
On the 1-Up view, tap the metadata icon to load the editor panel. This will display the available metadata fields below the 1-Up preview (or, on wider mobile devices, in a column to the right).
On larger devices, it is possible to rotate the screen to load a more spacious metadata editor in the right column. On smaller devices where there is not enough space to display the interface, rotating the screen to a wider view automatically invokes the full-screen zoom instead. Rotate the screen vertically again to resume metadata editing.
Edit Metadata
Working with metadata functions similarly to a Metadata Messenger in a desktop browser. Fields can be pinned to simplify the interface and focus on the task at hand. Navigating from one asset to the next (with a swipe, or tapping the navigation arrows in the bottom menu) will preserve the current metadata field for easy editing of multiple assets in the same session.
Tap the “edit” icon beside any field to open it for metadata editing. On a smaller screen, this will open the field in its own focused view. On larger screens, the field will be editable in line with the other metadata on the page.
In both versions, the functionality is the same. Adjust the metadata content, then tap the Save button to save changes. The “Clear” button will empty the metadata field entirely, while the “Undo” button will reset its content to its state before the field was opened for editing.
After saving, the focused metadata view will disappear, revealing the full metadata list again. (On larger screens, the in-line metadata field will remain active for additional edits. Tap another field or load another asset to move on.)
This process can continue field-by-field, or asset-by-asset, until all metadata editing is complete. If enabled, the Messenger can be completed by tapping the “Complete” button in the menu, which will notify the sender that it has been finished.
