Approvals View presents at-a-glance information about the status of assets that have been distributed using Approval Messengers. The status is displayed using a color-coded approval status indicator on the background of each asset’s card.
Green indicates an asset which has been approved by all Approval Messenger recipients.
Red indicates an asset which has been “killed” by at least one Approval Messenger recipient.
Yellow indicates an asset which is “pending”: at least one recipient has not yet submitted his or her Approval Messenger with a decision on this asset.
No color indicates that the asset has not been sent in an Approval Messenger. (Or, if it has, its approval state has been reset.)
These indicators may be toggled on or off using the “Approvals View” button in the toolbar.
Approvals View displays information about the decisions submitted through Approval Messengers, and is separate from the select level indicator which uses a colored border to display an asset’s select level in the current Edit.
Detailed Approval State
The approval status indicator on an asset’s card will always display aggregated information if that asset has been distributed to multiple Approval Messenger recipients. For instance, if some recipients have marked an asset “approved” and others have marked it “killed”, the aggregated status will be “killed”.
DF Studio displays the individual decisions of each recipient in the Approval Status section of the Asset Inspector’s Info tab. Recipient names are displayed with the date their Messenger was completed and a color-coded icon to indicate approved, “killed”, or pending. (Pending Approval Messengers will show the date the Messenger was sent instead of completed.)
The Approval Status section of the Asset Inspector is only displayed when a single asset is selected.
The individual approval states displayed in the Approval Status section are updated as soon as a Messenger recipient clicks “approve” or “kill” on an asset. The aggregated approval status will remain in “pending” until the Messenger has been completed.
Approval History
The History tab of the Asset Inspector will also display changes to an asset’s approval state, and can be filtered to hide all history entries unrelated to approvals using the menu at the top of the list.
View Individual Edits
For a full view of all approval decisions submitted by an individual Approval Messenger recipient, select that recipient's Messenger from the Edits menu. The colored border around each image preview will show the approval decision submitted by that Messenger recipient, while the background color will continue to display the aggregated approval state.
The approval state of an asset can also be useful in searching or filtering assets. For more information, see Asset Approval Status.
Reset Approval State
If it is necessary to erase all decisions from existing Approval Messengers, the “Reset Approvals” button will restore the asset’s approval status indicator to its default state and remove any completed Messengers from the Approval Status section of the Asset Inspector’s Info tab. For more information, see Reset Approvals.
