Each time files are uploaded to DF Studio, an Upload Report is generated to provide an account of the upload session, listing the files uploaded along with information about file stacking within the Project. A new Upload Report is created after all files have been received and processed. If any issues are encountered in the upload process, these will be noted prominently in the report to provide details to resolve any problems.
In the case of an incomplete or interrupted transfer, the Upload Report will be generated approximately 30 minutes after the last file has been received and processed.
Email Notification
When a new Upload Report is generated, a notification is sent by email to the person who initiated the upload. If the upload was based on an Assignment Key, the DF Studio user who created the Assignment will also receive a notification.
The notification includes a permanent link where a full Upload Report for the session can always be accessed. If any issues are encountered in the process of uploading or processing the files, these will be noted in the email notification, and more detail will be available by following the link.
If no issues are present, following the link is optional. No additional steps are needed, but the Upload Report contains details about the files received and assets affected in the DF Studio Project, in case this information is useful.
Upload Report
Each Upload Report has a unique and permanent link that will not expire. It includes details about the upload such as the destination Project, the uploading contributor, and the time the upload was performed. It also includes full details about all of the files involved.
Below the primary upload details, each Upload Report features a summary of the completed task. This shows the total number of files selected for upload, a count of any issues experienced in the uploading or processing of files, and a summary of DF Studio assets created or updated by the operation as a result of file stacking.
If any issues are encountered in the process, they will be noted in the upload summary, and the report will offer summarized information regarding the files affected. Click to copy a list of filenames to upload again, or click to download a CSV file listing all issues.
As long as replacement files are uploaded to the same Project and Setup, they will automatically stack with any existing files. See Understanding File Stacking for more information.
File and Asset Listing
The final section of the Upload Report offers a full list of the files and assets involved in the upload. These can be viewed under separate tabs which group the information appropriately to record the files sent, as well as the assets created or updated in DF Studio as a result.
Under each tab, it is possible to sort or filter the information as needed. If any issues are present, the view can be narrowed to the affected files using the filter toggle under the Files tab.
Information about the Setups within the Project affected by the upload can also be used to organize the view of information. Under the Files tab, the full list can be grouped into Setups using the “By Setup” toggle. In the Assets tab, assets are naturally grouped by the Setups where they are stored, and the individual Setups can be expanded or hidden as needed in order to focus on the most relevant information.
View Upload Reports for a Project
While the Upload Report is primarily useful as a tracking and troubleshooting tool for uploaders without visibility into the destination Project in the DF Studio account, the reports may provide useful information for users working in the Project as well. Visit the Project Details screen and click the “View Upload Reports” button to see all reports associated with the Project.
Users who create Assignments will receive an email notification any time an Upload Report is generated from the Assignment Key.
