Projects and Collections within DF Studio can be contained in folders to organize information and reduce clutter, or to take advantage of the ability to assign different levels of access to different users with permissions settings.
The root folder in every DF Studio account is the Library folder. All Projects or Collections, or other folders, are contained in the Library. This folder can be accessed by clicking the “Library” tab from the tab bar at the top of the DF Studio interface, then clicking the “Library” icon from the navigation path which appears just below the tab bar within the Library tab.
Any folder can include Projects, Collections, or other folders. Double-click any folder to view the folders inside.
Account admins can also review the entire folder structure of the DF Studio account by clicking “Folders” in the Account Settings section of the Settings page.
Rename a folder, move it to a different location in the folder hierarchy, or delete it using the links to the right of each folder name. The “Add” link will open the New Folder overlay.
Add a Folder
Move the mouse pointer over the “+New” button at the bottom of the left DF Studio sidebar, then click the “Folder” button to open the New Folder overlay.
Provide a name for the new Folder and specify the folder where it should be stored. “Library” is the root folder for the DF Studio account. Sub-folders, if any, will be listed beneath it in the Save in Folder menu.
Click the “Add Folder” button to create the folder in the specified location.
Add Items to a Folder
Move any Project, Collection, or folder into an existing folder by clicking the “Move” button in the Inspector sidebar. Specify the folder where the item should be stored, and then click the “Move” button to relocate the item.
When creating a new Project, Collection, or folder, use the Save in Folder menu to select the folder where the new item should be stored.
Assign Folder Permissions
Unique permissions can be granted on a folder, to be inherited by all folders, Projects, and Collections contained therein. These can control the access that a user or Team has to view the folder, or to perform certain actions on its contents. These settings can also be used to modify the appearance of VSP on the assets within the folder. For more information, see Control Access With Permissions Settings.
Manage Metadata Terms
Metadata Terms are inherited by folders, Projects, and Collections in a similar way to permissions. For more information, see Manage and Assign Metadata Terms.
