Within DF Studio’s Notes tab, each Note contains one or more Conversations, for communicating internally about an asset with other DF Studio account holders, or externally with Messenger recipients. (For additional details about Notes, see Organize Communication With Notes.)
Each Note has a DF Studio Conversation attached, which is visible only to DF Studio users. Any user who can see an asset can participate in the DF Studio Conversation.
If the Note has been attached to a Messenger from the current Project or Collection, any applicable Messenger Conversations will appear below the DF Studio Conversation in the Notes tab. See Collaborate With Messenger Recipients for more detail.
The title bar of each conversation will indicate the number of comments, and the title bar of each associated Messenger will indicate the number of participants in the Messenger.
Comments from the current user will be listed starting from the right, with a green icon; all other users will be listed starting from the left.
Hovering the mouse pointer over any comment in the Conversation will display the full name of the commenter, along with an icon indicating whether they are a DF Studio user (person icon) or a Messenger recipient (envelope icon).
Conversations with Messenger Recipients
Each Note’s DF Studio Conversation is visible to users with login access to the DF Studio account only. However, Messenger recipients can participate in separate Conversations around an asset, if Conversations are enabled when attaching the Note to a Messenger.
Messenger Conversations will be visible in DF Studio in a section at the bottom of the Notes tab for each asset. DF Studio account holders can add their comments to the recipient's Conversation, which will be visible to other DF Studio account holders as well as the Messenger recipient. See Collaborate With Messenger Recipients for further details.
Messenger Conversations are visible in the Notes tab only to the DF Studio user who sent the Messenger, or other DF Studio users with admin privileges on the account.
Visual Annotations
Comments in the DF Studio Conversation as well as any Messenger Conversation may have visual annotations attached. See Visual Annotations for an in-depth guide.
Edit and Delete Comments
Comments can be edited or deleted by their authors, and deleted by any DF Studio user with admin privileges. See Edit or Delete a Comment for detailed instructions.
Find Assets with Comments
Most Projects in DF Studio contain a large number of assets, which can make it time-consuming to sort through them all looking for Conversations. Fortunately, there are some shortcuts to find assets with Conversations attached.
In List View, Thumbnail View, and Detailed Thumbnail View, the Feature menu may be used to filter the display to only those assets with Notes content (including Conversations) attached. From this view, it is easy to browse assets one at a time to catch up on Conversations in the Asset Inspector.
Once selected, the Notes tab will remain active, and refresh with new information as the selection moves from one asset to another using the mouse or the arrow keys on the keyboard.
