When image assets are uploaded to DF Studio, JPEG previews of various sizes are generated for display in the web browser. These files are referred to in DF Studio as Project Storage. The original uploaded files are put into Active Storage where they can be preserved as a backup or delivered to clients.

Custom Scaled and Watermarked Storage

This designation refers to custom-generated previews for Messengers configured with watermarks, or offering custom-sized previews for download. These files are stored temporarily in order to provide functionality for their Messengers, and removed automatically after the Messengers have closed or expired.

Cold Storage

Files in Active Storage may be moved to Cold Storage or deleted to reduce the amount of storage used without affecting the DF Studio previews, thus continuing to enable all of DF Studio’s features, with the exception of downloading the original file.
