The Metadata Messenger template is a customized platform specifically for working with the metadata of DF Studio assets. It contains innovative features that make the process of filtering, editing, and even sending metadata easier and more comprehensive than ever.
Using this template, metadata can be edited quickly and directly for any number of assets, from a single image to an entire Project. Additions and edits to metadata in these Messengers will be written back to the files: effectively, third parties can use the Metadata Messenger to edit their clients’ metadata.
Learn more about the Metadata Messenger interface below, view Mobile Metadata Messenger for information about the custom interface for mobile devices, or see Send a Metadata Messenger for the steps to distribute assets in a Metadata Messenger.
Main Interface
The Metadata Messenger interface is divided into three sections: a workspace for viewing images in the center, with a menu sidebar at the left and a metadata editing area at the right.
Each image in a Metadata Messenger can be viewed in 1-Up view, accompanied by a colorful badge serving as a quick reference to an account’s metadata-driven badged field (if badging is active for the account). Viewing and editing metadata can be done using the metadata editing tools, to the right of the image thumbnails.
The Help link will display instructions to guide the Metadata Messenger recipient through the use of the fields and buttons in the metadata editor.
Left Menu
The left sidebar of the recipient’s Metadata Messenger interface provides controls and options for interacting with the Messenger.
Info: Displays information about the Metadata Messenger, its sender, and its recipient.
Perspectives: Switches between the thumbnail grid and the larger Single (1-Up) view. (1-Up can also be activated by double-clicking any thumbnail.)
Metadata: Toggles the visibility of metadata editing panel at the right side of the interface.
Badges: Toggles the visibility of image badges (if badging is active for the account).
Viewing Preferences: Provides access to tools that will adjust the style of the Messenger’s thumbnail view. The background color can be modified, as well as the number of images displayed per page.
Complete: Opens a form for the recipient to submit comments or feedback directly to the sender.
1-Up View
The 1-Up perspective displays larger previews of individual images. Zoom is available exclusively in this perspective, and the “Thumbs” button in the left menu panel will toggle the display of a navigation bar arranging all of the Messenger’s images in a filmstrip along the bottom edge of the workspace.
To use the Zoom feature in the 1-Up view, click the “Zoom” button in the left menu sidebar. Zoom into any part of the image to enlarge areas with important details, while controlling the zoom level with the zoom slider or the mouse scroll wheel. (Optionally, click the divider between the viewing area and the metadata editor to hide the right sidebar and display a larger 1-Up preview.)
