The Outline Navigator is a visualization tool which appears at the left edge of the workspace in a Project or Collection to provide a compact summary of its assets and enable quick navigation to different areas of the content.
When enabled, the Outline Navigator displays information about the entire contents of the Project or Collection in a single view. This includes group markers to indicate the start of each group within the Project or Collection, as well as a dynamic slider indicating the currently visible range of assets.
As assets are selected, their selection will be indicated in the Outline Navigator as well, making it possible to keep track of where selected assets are located, including those which may appear outside of the currently visible range.
Visualize Asset Data
The Outline Navigator can be configured to display a streamlined summary of asset information, such as the select levels within an Edit or the approval state of assets. These summaries are presented as color-coded bars, offering a clear visual representation of the asset information throughout the Project or Collection.
Combined with the grouping and sorting features, this provides a flexible way to assess patterns quickly, identify trends, or locate specific assets based on their attributes.
Navigate Quickly
Clicking anywhere in the Outline Navigator will scroll the view directly to that section, making it easy to take a closer look at any of the asset data summarized in the Outline Navigator.
Group headers can also be highlighted by moving the mouse pointer over the group markers within the Outline Navigator. Click any group header to navigate to that location in the Project or Collection.
Viewing Preferences
Open the Viewing Preferences to hide or show the Outline Navigator, or choose which information should be displayed. Select levels and approvals can be shown even if they are not displayed on the main proofsheet.
